I received the wifi module for Christmas but I cannot get the app to display the Roster and/or actually control anything, even after reading the manual multiple times and trying two different Legacy bases.

I have plugged in the PDI power, the serial cable into the base, left the wifi module as "Access Point", and made sure the switch is set to "Base".  The PDI cable is plugged into the "left side" of the wifi module though I cannot tell if that really matters.  I am able to successfully connect with my iPad and the blinking green light then goes solid.  After this, nothing else happens; no roster list downloaded from the base OR ability to manually control any engine.  When selecting an icon action (power on, off, bell, whistle, etc) for a manually selected engine I see the wifi green light blink but nothing from the PDI light, the PDI never does anything except when the unit is initially powered.

The Legacy bases are both v1.52, one upgrade by myself and the other arrived new with the latest software.

What am I missing?

Thanks!

Chris,

Yes, I am able to successfully connect to the wifi module, confirmed by both the green link in the app and the solid light on the wifi module.  The wifi light on the module also blinks (flickers) when I click control buttons in the app.

Everything appears perfect but obviously I am missing something.....

Chris,

I have already tried that as well with the iPad making a click sound confirming the button has been pressed and the WIFI light on the module distinctly blinking (indicating reception).  But, nothing else happens....  (I would hope the PDI light might blink but I never observe anything).

Everyone,

I just wanted to follow-up and let everyone know the LCS Wifi unit was defective.  While they debugged the problem they also replaced the charger in the Legacy Base unit and the wireless radio because the signal was too weak.  Should get them back tomorrow and hopefully will be able to test it all out Wednesday.  Clearly I should have taken care of this sooner but I was content using the Legacy Controller....

All around very pleased with Lionel Service!
