Looking for shelf layout ideas

Haven't built any of them, but have been designing around a 12-foot space. I've been trying to get a switching design that includes some street running. The curves are 36" radius (O-72) and is a recent concept:

This is an earlier one modeling the area around Santa Ana Street and Olive in Anahiem that still has street running, but the lumber yard spur isn't used any more. The curves are 48" radius (O-92) and was a 2-rail study.

Here's one that's a straight simple switching deck -- a packing house district with a fuel dealer (smudge oil and fuels), a packing house and ice house, plus a freight and passenger station. It's very loosely based on Mentone, California.

I built a 027 4x8 for my son years ago we still have, but just watching trains go round n' round sorta leaves me cold.

Thanks. I like the challenge of small-space layouts. The bottom one is a "Free-Mo" inspired switching deck (and is most likely to get built first). The idea is that it could be combined with additional modules in either direction for point-to-point operation on a larger scale. Free-Mo is popular in Europe (called Fremo there) and is primarily H.O. with some O and some 45mm (#1 Gauge).

The Top one is also designed so that it could, in theory, be extended off the top-left or the top and bottom right ends.
