In addition to Charles Ro, The DCS Companion 3rd Edition is also available at York from Holly Beach Trains, JusTrains and OGR.

But this book  replaces the screwdriver as far as prewar/postwar and MTH stuff is concerned.If you've got a DCS engine, you should pickup this most incredible INVALUABLE TOOL.It's money well spent.

I tell everyone who runs DCS to buy one.  I do not get any commission for doing so.  I know a small bit about DCS and have a copy on my work bench at all times.

I know this question must sound stupid but I am an electronic "Know-Nothing," and without some hand holding, I am easily confused. I am building  new layout which will use the DCS system to route track power and control all switches as well as run DCS locos, obviously. I will have five or six electrical districts (four electrically isolated main lines, a steam yard, and a series of staging tracks. I will also run Legacy locos. I plan to use DCS WiFi on my Iphone and Ipad to control the switches.

Is it a good idea to buy the latest DCS Companion Third Edition if I already own the 1st Edition?

Yes and the DCS WiFi edition when Barry releases it later this year.  Enough has changed that would warrant a 3rd edition in your library.  I know, not the right Marty but I think they'd agree.  After all 2 out of 2 Marty's recommend the DCS companions for their patients who run DCS.

I sit corrected. Before I knew nothing I used to know something. Then something happened and now I know nothing. Now, I know this sounds very silly but the speed of technological advance is accelerating. The problem is my memory loss is, too. Perhaps, I have to get the book and just study like I used to before there was such a thing as technology.

The 1st edition had 168 pages. The 3rd edition has 242 pages.
