Looking for an AC output transformer for use with postwar and modern trains, on behalf of a fellow hobby member in the area. Preferably one with fixed outputs, and a maximum output between 18-20 volts, with a built in circuit breaker. $25 is his limit. I think a RW or 1033/1044 type would work best, anyone else's thoughts/extras?

You are going to find it difficult to find your friend a $25.00 working transformer on the forum or eBay. These are reasonably heavy items and the freight alone would be in the $10.-$15. range. I have seen decent 1033's at train meets that could be bought for about $25.00. Find a train meet for your friend to attend.
