Ok guys acquired this marx pressed steel tank with wooden wheels and a hollow inside with turning turret on top.  The question is where did a tank like this originate from??  Not sure but there are two holes (one on each side) that have been punched out and not sure about that is it some type of mount??  Measures a little over 4" long.  The man I bought it from said it came with a train set but ive never seen a tank like this with a train set before and ive seen a lot of marx tank variations out there.  He said that the man he bought the set from told him that the tank did come with the set but again I have no way of proving that but that's what ive been told.  Just curious if anyone else has run across this tank before or knows anymore about it.

Ok Gary and C.H. really appreciate the replies on this tank.  I did some more research and found out that it originally was one of two tanks that were attached to the bottom of a Buddy L transport plane.  Most of the original tanks were lost and I'm sure kids played with them and they were the first things lost.  I included a few pics of a plane that I found with the tanks mounted to it.

Thanks for the pics on the critter tank have bought a sold a few of those over the years as well as multiple other styles of marx tank.  When I first got it I just had banked on the fact that it was marx but wrong was I!!  Thanks again on the replies and hopefully if nothing else it helps out others with this same style tank lying around.

JEFF
