I was driving by the store this afternoon when I noticed it looked unusually dark.  Turned around and parked in front of it.

Posted on the door was a sheriff's eviction notice dated June 26th.  The store was empty except for shelving and debris.

The store was located on Derry Street in Harrisburg, PA and was a combination train store and auto parts store.

Excuse me if this is old news.

Does anyone else have any information or updates?

George

Rob,

It is a shame about losing another train store in Central PA, but I have to confess I had not visited the store in years.  I couldn't stand to go in there because of the cigarette smoke.  I really liked Dan Maxwell, but he chain-smoked continuously.  30 seconds after entering, my bronchial tubes would start to seize up.  I wrote him a letter explaining that I could no longer patronize his store because of the smoke.  He also kept very irregular hours - very tough to keep a business functional that way.

I do wish him well.
