The Glacier Green freights by McCoy are pretty tough to find, so I am making my own. The hopper in the background is an original as well as a boxcar not shown. The rest are repaints I am working on to go with my Glacier Green Cascade E-2 loco. I will add a reefer to the list, but need to finish these first.

Nice going Steve, looks like you've nailed the color just right.  Good thing you have the hopper, that silkscreening would have been the hardest to duplicate.  What are you doing for decals?

The local auto paint store had a color chip that was near perfect. I had them brew up a couple spray cans for me. Still working on the graphics. I don't have good scans of the original cars, so I'm using a bit of artistic license (poor computer skills) to get something close.

I'd be happy to scan mine if it would help.  The problem making decals will be the white goat, since our printers can't print white.

These might work for some of the cars?

Looks like fun any way you do it, great project.  McCoy cars are just fun to take apart and put back together!

As I have done in the past, I will try and make some nice stickers for the graphics. If they don't look decent, I'll try decals. I hope to do the tank car today being as it needs it's graphics before it can be reassembled.

Try using white decal paper and trim close around the black outside lines.
