I bought a bottle when it first came out. I used it in my 15+ year old MTH Mallet that did not have a smoke issue but did have a squeaking fan. After a couple cycles with the eliminator the Mallet is still a big time smoker but the squeaking fan is quiet.

It is fine as a smoke fluid.
Our "Eliminator"is a premium product chemically designed to eliminate the bad smells sometimes associated with poor quality smoke fluid and or the nasty smells of the primed units made overseas. When used as directed it will cleanse the smoke unit and provide extended life to the wicking material. It also has viscosity characteristics that have been known to quiet noisy smoke unit fans and many have reported excellent results in that category. Yes, it can and is used by many as a smoke fluid as it was developed to be compatible with the Mega-Steam line of smoke fluid. When you notice the pleasant lemon-lime smell, you know it is working. see www.megasteam.com for further information.

It works great! I use it in new engines to "De-Stink" the cheep fluid they put in when the engine is built. The first application I just let it sit in the wicking overnight before I run the smoke unit. After that run it 3 more times then run what ever flavor you wish.
I refuse to use another product. Mega Steam eliminator is the only smoke fluid that I put in my locomotives. I do many smoke unit repairs and use this product in every one.
I alternate between this product and Mega Steam's Nada. Nothing else goes in my engines.
I have an MTH PS3 GP-38 that would put out hardly any smoke. I put in Eliminator, let it sit overnight and the next day it put out plenty of smoke. Some of my engines work fine with regular smoke fluid, but from now on, I’ll stick with Eliminator or another Mega Steam fluid in the GP-38.
I use it all my locos once every 6 months and my weak smokers.
Definitely a quality product. I run MS coal and oil smells throughout the year because I love the realism. Every Christmas I have to use the eliminator to get rid of that smell and run the Christmas Pine for the old lady. This is my only concession for the Christmas tree and fills the room better with tree scent than those expensive hanging pine scents she buys. Winston 1, girlfriend ?... well I would have to ask her as she is really far ahead. Thank you MS for this victory.

Marty,
Can I ask why only Eliminator and not other JT Megasteam?
I've used it once, in a newish Legacy steamer whose smoke production had dropped off rather badly. Smoke production was noticeably better after than before, so my conclusion is that it works. Since it costs more than regular smoke fluid, I'll use it occasionally in each engine to keep things working properly.
