Went to Menards to return item then strolled down toy aisle and behold, Menards O gauge cars.  Picked up a Santa Fe, Wisconsin Central, Soo Line cars (weathered).  In process of adding to my inventory list then put to work on the rails.  For $18 to $22, not bad looking cars and the "built by Menards" is fairly inconspicuous on sides.  Also had Milwaukee and Soo Line flat cars but they looked looked O-27 cheap "starter set" types, so I passed on them.

Anybody spring for all the numbered cars in the series?

Any problems with the wheel sets on the trucks being out of gauge? Do the couplers work properly?
Thanks,
Steve

I replaced the wheel sets with those from inexpensive, recently produced, Lionel freight cars with plastic trucks.  Some others have made comments that the wheel sets that come with the menards cars are light weight and don't track well even after correcting for track gauge.

Cars appear to be made by Weaver??  Wheel sets on mine are electrically conductive and seem to roll through the Ross and KLine switches with no problems. Be aware the wheels are fixed solid to axles, not independent free rolling wheels.  Looks like the couples have a metal plate to open them, but no tang to push on to manually open couplers.

These will be sitting on sidings for most part to fill space, not intended to run like my "real" MTH and Lionels.

I purchased a while back the BN 6 pack for $99, all different numbers.
