The past week was not very special from a photographic standpoint.  Grey days, and threats of snow, when it wasn't snowing kept my camera inside and away from the trains.  I thought today, with the sun, and a coating of snow might make for a better day, so welcome to another edition of MidWeek Photos!

So earlier today, I drove to all the railroad yards locally... Steamtown and the Delaware-Lackawanna in Scranton, Canadian Pacific in Taylor, Reading & Northern and Luzerne & Susquehanna in Pittston.  No action.  However, I did catch these units.  Above, L&S former PRR GP9 number 1751 alongside the L&S shop  Their U33B was being worked on, but this Geep sat idle.

Next, I saw the local switchers for the Canadian Pacific in the Taylor yard.  GP38 7307 and GP40 5460.  No cars to switch around today.

I hope your week turned out better.  If it did, post your successes here.  Thanks to all for contributing.

Today, Missouri Bootheel railroading,

A northbound UP empty oil can, train ONUEU, rolls across the BNSF diamond at Rockview, MO, just north of the BNSF crew change at Chaffee, MO. The diamond is just below the overpass in the background. The UP Chester Sub host Dexter, MO to Dupo/E. St. Louis trains as well as Dexter to Salem, IL trains. A very busy (18 plus in each direction) line linking Texas and the southwest to Chicago and eastern gateways. The BNSF River Sub runs St. Louis to Memphis, not sure how many trains use that line, maybe 5 or 6 each  way?

Rockview was the site of a major collision a few years ago when a UP train T-Boned a BNSF train and the wreckage knocked down the overpass. Dan

NS 7691 south, UP train MTTPB, rolls past the MFA elevator at Bernie, MO on UP's Jonesboro Sub. The train is about 10 miles south of the crew change at Dexter, MO, with a fresh crew bound for Pine Bluff, AR. This train is received from the CN/IC up near Salem, IL.
