Reminder that the monthly DuPage show is this Sunday, March 8th.  We have a good weather forecast with warmer temperatures and no precipitation so we should see outside vendors too.  We will be meeting for breakfast at 7:00 AM at The Verdict Restaurant located at 600 County Farm Rd., Wheaton, IL.

I plan to be there as usual.  Who else is going?

Matt - You had mentioned that you might possibly be coming back again this weekend?  If so, that would be great and we can get your passengers safely sent back to the twin cities with you.  If not, I will be sure to get them from Tim and we can then get them safely sent to you.  The biggest worry is with Stan around as he is a huge C&NW fan too.

Rich,  On your way home why not stop by the Griffith Club and see what is going on, it is right on your way.  We have an open House Saturday & Sunday from 10:00-5:00. Ed was there for our last open house and he just may pop in again.

If you happen to see LJ at DuPage introduce yourself and see if he remembers you.  (inside joke)

Don't feel bad, I overslept too.  I woke up 10 minutes late as the alarm didn't go off.

It was a great show today in my opinion.  Good crowds and a lot of vendors too.  Had to park further out than usual.

Picked up Matt's K-Line 21" C&NW passenger cars and had help carrying them to the car.  AlanRail loaned me a Lionel Milwaukee Hiawatha Station Sounds Dining car to take home and stretch it's legs along with his engine and other cars.

Bought three used buildings for my towns of Spencer and Ruthven.

The two outside ones have full interiors.  They will make great additions to my towns.

Had a good gang at breakfast this morning even though it was the start of Daylight Savings Time.  Excellent conversations as usual and it made the day a lot of fun.

Thanks, Brian.  It made me a little sad to see all the remnants of what obviously was a well done and scenicked layout being sold on a table at DuPage.  Made me realize that this is how most of our layouts will end up after we are gone.  Left to our wives to have dismantled and sold off for someone else's future enjoyment.  The other side of the coin was that it must have provided many hours of pleasure to the creator.

These are a good example of the types of treasures that can be found at DuPage.  I paid $45 for these three buildings but may have been able to get them for even less, but I felt that they were a good value at that price.  The left building has a full interior with a bar with a bartender and customer and a pool table with accessories.  The bakery building on the right has a counter with stools and a bakery case filled with goodies.  The garage was a model front that I had planned to get anyway and the fact that it was signed for Williams Motors sealed the deal for me.

After a little cleanup, new lightning and signs, I will use the right two for background in Spencer and the bar on the left will go in downtown Ruthven.
