Posting pictures demonstrating the breadth and scope of the show would be the most powerful attendee-recruiting tool imaginable.

I'm relatively new to the hobby, so I'm sure the "no pictures" topic has been beaten to death over the years--but as a veteran of many comic/toy/collectible shows, I've never seen such a practice.

Thanks for posting these--and giving me my first look at York!

I maintain that there is a direct correlation between exorbitant TCA dues and those that  attend this meet. When I suggest opening the meet to the public to increase attendance; the argument that I hear is that anyone can attend; just join, pay the dues at the door and the admission. That's $63.00 just to get in the door.

On a positive note the ED has always done a fantastic job putting this great meet together. Phone, photos-great moves. They should be applauded and thanked for these changes and for all the years of giving us the finest meet in the world.. If they want to do better and grow, they need to recognize that the TCA affiliation is what's holding them back and as the attendance steadily falls, they will.

Wow.  That is a lot of trains.

Thanks for posting the photos.  I haven't been to York and it is unlikely that I will get there in the near future.  I will get there someday.

I am a TCA member and I enjoy my local Nor-Cal division's activities and the Quarterly.  I think that the friendships that I have made through being a TCA member are worth $50 per year.

Hopefully we will start seeing more photos of the meet.

While it is supposed to be the Mecca of train gatherings, I don't see myself attending simply due to logistics. It's far enough I would require a motel room and at least 3 or 4 tanks of fuel.

I can buy a new engine with that much money !

I'll continue to go to the Amhearst / Big E show where I can do it in one day and do it on 1 tank of fuel. And I might buy an engine there tho I have not done so yet.

I may be fooled by the sunglasses, but I think that may be Paul Edgar.

Former TCA President and always York attendee.  Hopefully he sees your question and can help you with any questions you may have.
