The new run of R-32 subway cars has been delivered.  Sadly, MTH took a page from Lionel's R-30 set, and screwed up the sequence of the cars.

The power car is numbered 3862, has a drawbar, and has "Hudson Terminal" on the end destination sign.  The end car (with working marker lights, or the option of head lights) is numbered 3915, has a drawbar pin, and has "Bedford Park) on the destination sign.  The middle cars are numbered 3863 and 3914.  Both have "Bedford Park" on their destination signs.  The 3863 has a drawbar, and 3914 has a drawbar pin.

Logically, the correct sequence for the set would be 3862-3863-3914-3915.  The big problem is that both 3862 and 3863 have drawbars, while 3914 and 3915 have drawbar pins.  Also, 3914 has the wrong destination sign (being a middle car it isn't a major problem).  As a result the sequence for the set ends up being 3862-3914-3863-3915.

The plated finish is beautiful.  Unlike the previous runs the doors no longer can be opened.  They do come with passengers, but again not "TA" logos, but the circles for them are molded on the sides.

Also, the 20-20631-3 two car add-on set has the cars done correctly regarding the destination signs.

Edit:  Yes, I know that the drawbar situation is not insurmountable, but with a list price of $630 that should not be the case.

Received my R32s a couple of days ago. They are just great. The looks. The sound. The speed. There are a few minor issues as stated above but to me they are well worth purchasing. I remember the actual R32s when they hit the road on the old BMT Brighton subway line in 1964. They operated on the Q, D, B, and N among other lines in the early days. Beautiful subways. Fast. There was nothing faster in the MTA subway system than taking a D express between 125th St and 59th St. heading southbound. Or taking the B or D express between 34th St and W. 4 St. Enduring. These being the world's oldest subway cars that in some measure are still in operation.  A+
