MTH Announces Tinplate item cancelations...

Was this due to not enough pre-orders?

Interesting that the list only contains O-Gauge Tinplate.  I wonder if any Standard Gauge items were cancelled.

Likely, although not sure why they wait so long to cancel.  Maybe they are about to   do the production run for this tooling.

By the way, 11-70124 is a hopper, not a reefer.

Does anyone know if the 11-70117 Goetz reefer was ever manufactured and shipped or was it too canceled?

I have not received my order yet. It doesn't say cancelled on the site, but wow, it's been 2 years!

I looked at the "find it locally" link on the item and came up with these. Looks like it was made???

Steve, I saw the same thing but have never seen reference to a "real" one and so am wondering if they do or will ever exist

I called Sidetrack when I saw that a few months ago. They said they had not received any nor had they received notice they were shipping yet. They did have it on pre-order though. I think those are dealers with orders in. My pre-order is with Pat's Trains, but I don't see them on the list, which is odd.

This car is amongst several that are not cancelled, but for now on the back burner for future production.  I believe they need more orders to put them and other like cars into production.  I didn't get any preorders for this particular car, that is why I didn't order any for open stock.  If the dealer you ordered it from is not on that list above, I would contact them or another dealer that is able to backorder it for you.  I suspect when interest increases, they will put it in the production schedule.
