MTH Building with blinking lights that failed

Following thread suggests fussing with the voltage might bring a non-working blinking sign back to life.

Note how member Dale H tries somewhat in vain to get someone to provide more info/photo of the actual circuit board.  There were no takers...perhaps you could post some closeups of the board.  If the board is no longer available this would be a good start to coming up with an alternative.

The following is the only video I could readily find of an MTH building with blinking sign.  I assume this is what you're talking about...and that they use the same circuit board to drive the different blinking sign designs.

If this is an EL sign (?) I wonder if something from Miller Engineering blinking window signs could be used.

I'll bet it's likely that the sign IS from Miller Engineering.  I'd guess they might be able to come up with a power supply...

Hmm. If you're right, is this a sequel to the Menards 4.5V LED fiasco?  Miller apparently uses 4.5V DC for EL window signs.  I think Menards has some EL type signs.  I wonder what happens if you use an unregulated 4.5V adapter with a DC-to-AC inverter designed for 4.5V?

I got the replacement PCB at YORK.  I took the burnt out one and they matched it up for me at the MTH Parts booth.

I called Miller and they use a different type of board which will not work.  I emailed Midge at MTH and she asked for photos which I just sent.  I  asked whether a later issue board could be used as a substitute.   The last 5 story building was produced in 2011 and the Solid State TV building was done in 2004-5.   

Since you apparently took photos of the board, could you post them here for future reference?
