Has anyone tried to run the MTH Doodlebug on O-27 track and switches. I am thinking of purchasing one as my "daily passenger accommodation", since I am modeling a branch line with small Lionel 2-6-2s providing the bulk of the power. Any advice or experience anyone can give is appreciated. Thanks...

Thanks for the input. Looks like I am going to stick with using the Pullman Expansion pack for my passenger equipment or the old Lionel 2400 series cars. I will probably stick with O-27 because of limited space I have for the layout.

I guess, from what I've been reading, the old Lionel F-3s were famous for scraping the switch motor housings as well. I wonder how hard it would be to do a chop job on the MTH Doodlebug and take an inch or so out of the length...hmmm....

Thanks for the heads up. I got out of HO a number of years ago and I did a lot of kit bashing, especially with the old Ambroid and Labelle kits. 3rail O gauge is more structured in that you can't just get out the Xacto tools and easily modify something. Also you don't seem to have options to buy separate power trucks, etc...

Big advantage for O is my ability to actually see what I'm doing...however...
