Since the first issue in WM, Reading and P&LE these have been my all time favorite small steamer. I have been really looking forward to these arriving.

 

MTH did the steamers in WM the steel gray boiler; the black boiler; and an uncatalogued Scenic Version that represents the Consolidation as it's running today, with the wider letters and numbers and the black finish on the tender and roof. 

 

There is also a version in the NYC / P&LE and Illinois Central liveries. Interesting that the IC have been the first models to sell out.

 

I opened one of each and powered them up on our layout - here are the pictures for your comparison:

Here's the NYC / P&LE version 20-3352-1

 

 

MTH_Premier_280_WM_Blk

 

This is the black WM version. It's used both as 20-3551, road number 811, and this one is the one from the freight set, 20-3554-1. The freight set includes 5 40' box cars with the fireball logo and a CA-1 caboose.

 

 

MTH_Premier_280_WM_Blk_Special

 

This is the uncatalogued version, 20-3562-1 the refer to as "Scenic"

 

 

MTH_Premier_280_WM_Gray_2

 

This is the steel gray boiler version, 20-3550-1.....
