MTH Premier Chicago Metra P40PH Smoke On/Off Switch Location | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

I just received my new MTH Premier Chicago Metra P40PH. I cannot locate the smoke on/off switch. Is it on the underside of the engine? Is there a removable section of the top of the engine so you can access the switch? I've looked all over the engine and I just can't find it.

I'm probably the only diesel operator who does not use smoke on any of their engines.

Any help will be appreciated.

You aren't the only "no diesel smoke" guy.

If it isn't a little blue/white dial under the engine, some engines have a hatch that can be removed from the roof. Check the owners manual to see exactly where and how to remove the hatch.

For all newer PS-3 you have a pot to adjust as SJC mentioned. One is volume and one is smoke. This is for conventional ops only. With DCS you use the remote. G
