I have a MTH RailKing 1101 AT&SF Mohawk Locomotive from the mid 1990's. It is merely electronic Whistle with the Digital Reverse Unit and sound in the tender. The tender is connected to the locomotive by a 4 wire tether. This tether is visibly damaged and the locomotive is inoperative without this connection. I also have an NYC version (1102) of this loco and the AT&SF Locomotive operates fine with the NYC tender connected, confirming it is the tether. I would like to find this tether part (with it's apparently unique or specific connector). This loco is too old for any hope at the MTH WEB Site as far as I can tell. Can anyone offer any suggestions for old MTH parts or an excellent MTH Repair person to resolve my problem somehow? I am able to do this myself (dis-assembly, soldering, etc.) if I could get a suitable part.

If it is just the standard 4 pin plug with a 90 degree bend at the plug, I have some. Contact info in profile.

Chuck is the guy to go for Lionel and MTH parts of all kinds. He has really helped me out a few times. Chuck was at Mizell's back when they were in business in north Denver (Westminster). Thanks Chuck. P.S. I miss Mizell's. They were a great bunch of people and really went out of their way for you.

Larry3railtrains - thanks for your comments endorsing Chuck. I have always been impressed by his knowledge and willingness to help. His are some of the posts I always read - especially since I am a Post War/Conventional Operation enthusiast and good info saves a lot of grief.

Still listed. Harness are still available so Chuck will fix you up. Just measure total length, and whether it is soldered onto the board or uses the 2pin molex plugs (4 total Red/Blk, Wht, Yel). MTH sells a universal version now. G
