Folks,

I have been on the topic of Lionel Lionchief and the wall pack(as seen below)  wall outlet plug in (no traditional brick/box transformer). If  I used, lets say 2 Fastrack terminal pieces to accept 2 wall packs in the same oval of track, wouldn't that give me enough juice to have a good bit of expansion-more track, more powered accessories? Or would cause problems connecting 2 wall units to 2 pieces of FasTrack terminal track within the same oval ?  Many thanks!!

bjflyer, creative thinking. Just to be sure, I would use a total of 2 pieces of the 1 3/8 inch long straight sections (6-12073) , 1 on one side of the oval and the other on the opposite side of the oval, then connect the wall packs to terminal FasTrack(which would be connected  to the 2 "blocks re: to the  1 3/8 " Fastrack pieces and as gunnerunner says, remove the jumpers from the 13/8 sections to isolate ??   Assistance is much appreciated, will make my expansion less problematic for the LionChief. Again, many thanks.

The major concern would be short circuit protection. Each wall pack has it's own circuit breaker, and depending on where the short is non, some, or all of the breakers may trip(they are auto resetting).

If you use two of the 1 3/8 inch long straight sections (6-12073) on opposite sides of the layout you will effectively create two "blocks" since the center rail of these sections is cut into two pieces. If you then install one terminal section in each "block" the 18V supplied by each transformer will be isolated from each other. Each circuit breaker should then control it's own "block" section. The entire loop will have a constant 18VDC but if one "block" shorts out for some reason the train will stop in that block.
