I had a TMCC/RS semi-scale Hudson from the late 90s that I loved but had serious sound and smoke issues. It had become a paper weight. At October York I gave to to Alex Malliae to take to his "engine hospital" for a major refit.

I picked it up at April York.......It is like a brand new engine.

Alex installed an ERR cruise commander kit with steam sounds and a fan-driven smoke unit with superchuffer.

Thank you so much, Alex!

Sorry to say that you need to send it back and have him fix the eccentric crank that is out of position by almost 90 degrees.

Upon further review, it appears that the screw holding eccentric crank or the crank pin itself is loose because the eccentric is not rotating at all. It is just stays pointing down.

This is the position that it should be in (#1).

Note below how the crank properly rotates (this from another thread):

I'm well aware that the eccentric isn't operating correctly, it must be left the way it is

because there's a few issues with the side rod's on both sides of the engine. If I position  everything the way it's suppose to be, everything binds up. If it didn't bind up after a few minutes everything would loosen up, although I should have asked Peter if he wanted me to repair this issue.

Peter, enjoy the engine, she's a great runner. If you want me to repair the side rod's

I would be glad to do so, sorry i didn't mention it early.

Thanks everyone for the kind words!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, Alex, you should have! And really you should have fixed it without asking. That's just plain goofy looking!

Hmmm, that sounds like a new soap opera!

"Can Dr. Alex save the locomotive to run again?! Will Dr. Dina arrive in time to assist Dr. Alex?!  Tune in next week for another episode of 'Engine Hospital' !!"
