Nice collection.  My wife and I were in France summer 2014.  I have an interest in history and WW1 and II.  We stumbled into a great train station near St Mihael.  I have a lot of photos from many places.  We stayed near the gare at Strasbourg for 5 nights.  Write to my email if interested.

I also viewed the Tour de France at Verdun and Belgium.

Hello Woojr,

Sorry if my English is not very good.

I was in the USA 3 years ago, and I have too an interest in history and WWI and II, you can see some pictures with this message.

When I was a member of the military, I lived in Strasbourg, now I am in Paris.

And today I received a new engine from Trainz who repaired it for me, PS2 board was broken.

Hello from America

" .... little train collection ..."  I guess everything is relative! Lol.

That is a fantastic collection. Different railroads and equipment .... a lot of great stuff!

Like others, I am also interested in the two wars. Interesting how many people enjoy/model the German equipment. I built German Tiger tank dioramas for many years.

I am glad you made it here and I hope you get back.  I made a great circle driving tour

of France several years ago....hitting most of the sights, excepting the WWII landing

sites.  I even found an abandoned railroad in the Dordogne.  I hoped to go back and

further explore the Dordogne and along the Spanish border.  Much to see and explore

in France. Don't apologize for your English, for sure, it is better than most Americans'

French.

Votre collection c'est pas petite!

Even though I lived in Paris for one year, the above would be the limit of my French-speaking abilities...

That's a great collection.  It must have been a lot of work for you to have accumulated it from across the ocean.  Thanks for sharing.

I have two questions concerning some items I can't identify.  Perhaps you or some of the other readers can help:

  1. Who made the diesel engine shown in "entrée 02.jpg", and what is the catalog no.?

  2. Who made the red/white/blue passenger cars shown in "salle 19.jpg", and what are the catalog nos.?

Thanks in advance for your help.  Keep up the good work.

Very interesting collection you have. I had not seen the BNSF War Bonnet before, as trains were on hiatus in my life at that time.

A very unusual color scheme for the War Bonnet. Shockingly so. But, green and cream are a very pleasant and classy color combination. I think it's nickname was only a reaction to the extreme deviation from the classics. I nearly feel the same about the blue and yellow S.Fe, finding the yellow bonnet on silver (and green / cream) much more pleasing.

Merci beaucoup pour le partage  (orthographe par google. De minuscules morceaux de français se glissent toujours sur les souvenirs d'un homme, qui était garçon une fois multilingue) {Thanks for sharing. (spelling by google. Tiny bits of French creep out of a man, that was once a multilingual boy)}.

German styles of the era preceding the war had a great influence on the worlds styles as a whole. It is no surprise to me they are still appealing; despite the distaste of the political aspects.
