Thanks to a fellow forum member who was willing to part with this set, I now own what in my humble opinion is one of the nicest passenger sets available.  This set was originally issued with Alco ABA units, but the gentleman I purchased it from did the same thing I would have and swapped the Alcos out for F3 units.

In the video I'm running ABA only with 7 gorgeous aluminum detailed interior 16 inch passenger cars, one of which is the StationSounds car, which my kids love hearing, as do I.  I'm expecting the powered B unit in the mail any day now and this consist will be complete.  One pleasant surprise when I unboxed the passenger cars, the interiors are not only highly detailed with hand painted passenger figures, but the tables and seating are also painted!  I'm usually a steam guy, but I could watch this set run all day long.

Short video of its maiden run at the Old Town Model Train Depot

*This was the first attempt at using my GoPro Hero 4.  I accidentally exported the video in lower resolution than I intended so it's not in HD.

Excellent!  Love the shot over the trestle.

The Lionel 50th Anniversary UP set looks spectacular on the large layout.  Really shows the length of this set.  I've always wanted this one, even bid on several, but it's never worked out.  Congrats on the new purchase.

Here's something you may not know-the cars in this set are unique.  The additional sale 15" UP cars weren't as nicely detailed as these cars.

Enjoy your new train, let's see some more video!

Very nice engines, sound, and cars and layout from what I see!

Thanks for sharing with us.

It is a dream set.  The funny thing is I had no idea it existed until my forum friend made it available.  So it's not as if I had been looking for it, it just sort of dropped in my lap.  And I'm glad it did.  This is definitely a keeper.
