Fantastic work Malcom, I always enjoy your posts concerning your projects. I have a simple question if I may disturb you for a moment. What supplier do you use for your flat brass wire that you use to produce your end and door steps? Walther's used to carry it years ago but I have not been able to locate any as of late. Many thanks and keep up the great work. Gene

Thank you for the quick reply and information Malcom, I will check them out. Your work is great and for many modelers a lost art. You are an inspiration to all of us who wish we had your talent and ability to scratch build such excellent scale models. You should consider doing articles for the trade magazines concerning your projects, adding a few dead presidents to your bill fold can be a good thing. Keep up the fantastic work, Best Regards; Gene.

Now where is THE 3-rail version?

Ron

Looking at those flanges, that *IS* the three rail version.

Here is "THE" (MY) three-rail version just unpacked.

Wow Malcolm, that must have taken you a hour to pack up!

Look graet.

Well....not the only 3 rail version. Mine arrived today too.

It is currently displayed in my highest place of honor between my "Brother Love" CF Caboose and brass auxiliary water tender. The 3rd Rail 2300 currently is buried in a pile of boxes. These cars will be united later this summer.

On Saturday, I took the opportunity to visit the prototype.

The N&W 2300 was seldom seen without this car in tow. I never imagined ever having a model of the 2300. Scott Mann made that a reality. With the delivery of the 3rd Rail 2300, the Dynamometer car became the "missing link". The consist my father devoted three years of his life to, is now complete.

A surviving example of the CF Caboose was on display too.
