Considering October York badges are being sent out, I figure it was a good time to start this.

The National Capital Trackers, Washington DC's O Gauge modular railroad club will be exhibiting a 28' x 117' O Gauge layout in the Black Hall during the October York meet.

This layout promises to be our most complex layout yet. Not giving away all of the secrets but expect to see John Zampino's 20 foot long, 6 foot high Hell Gate Bridge, Bernie Gross' Civil War Battlefield, Regis Harkin's steel mill, a unique bridge model based on a real Virginia design never before done in O Gauge (at least we've never seen it done before!), separate levels, and much, much more.

Our layouts pack tremendous detail. We have about 100 members, ranging from pre-teens to senior citizens. Each member can decorate their modules in any way possible. We have whimsical toy scenery, hi-rail, and everything you can possibly think of.

Please come stop by the Black Hall in October and see us. If by chance you live in the Washington Metro Area (we also have members out of the area in Southern Pennsylvania), please consider joining us. We do about 25 events each year so there is no shortage of opportunities to get involved.

Visit our website at www.nationalcapitaltrackers.org and/or our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/NationalCapitalTrackers/

We have a very active Facebook page with hundreds of photos and videos from our events.

Saw them at York a few years ago and looking forward to seeing them again.  Their layout was the most impressive modular display I've ever seen.

And thanks to NCT for the effort.  It might look easy, but speaking as a member of a modular club, I can tell you that it's a lot of hard work, long days, and sore backs.

So this layout has turned into a tour of the USA. I'm not going to give away the farm, so you'll just have to come and see us. Make sure you check out the other layouts too, anyone who's ever done one of these York shows understands the incredible effort that it takes to do it.... we want the hall stacked several deep, people calling their friends in other halls and all the other things I recall seeing last time we did it.

We'll have both wifi systems up and running, the yard is running on an iPad via LCS, lots of stuff to see. Not to be missed!

On one stretch of track they had a working version of Old Faithful from Yellowstone National Park that was pretty cool. Blew out puffs of smoke from the ground as a timed event, just like in Yellowstonr. Also had a slice of Yosemite National Park adjacent to Yellowstone that was easily recognizable as such. Nice job on the modeling.
