I have a Lionel box car from the year 2000. I bought it at the TCA museum as the "museum car" for that year (back when they use to have them every year)It had a picture of the museum on it which I believe is one of Angela Trotta's paintings? She was there at the museum autographing cars for those who wanted it. I can' find  a reference to it or it's value in any of my reference books like Greenberg's price guide etc? On the car and on the box are only the number 2000? Can any one help me in identifying this car??

Is it this car?  (I found this in a fellow forum member's for sale list via a web search).

If it is, make sure it's the common one.

A variant exists that was for the museum committee that has a skeleton at a drawing board, referred to as "The Last Revision".  I was told this is a much smaller run, maybe around or less than 100.  (I have no idea the run size of the common one)

People for the most part seem to have stopped caring about these cars, so value is whatever you can get someone to agree to if yo ulook to sell.

Boy you guys are really something! You not only answered my question but gave me additional information about the 52226 (2000) Angela Trotter box car. I now have found it in the Greenberg's price guide.

I'll tell you a funny but true story related to this car. I purchased it new the lobby of the  TCA museum, evidently in "01". After my purchase, I went into the museum proper, and there was Angela autographing the car for those who wanted it done. Behind her were two "collectors" counting the cars she signed. I ask them why and they told me they knew how many cars were built and so if they knew how many she signed, they would know which ones were rarer. The autographed ones or those that were not!! Alas , here we are 14 years later and there's no mention about the Autographed ones??

Are collectors NUTS or what??

That is pretty funny, especially because I suspect (unless there was some formal arrangement, which seems unlikely) Angela probably would not refuse to sign the cars later.  In the last 15 years, I would guess the count taken that day may not be accurate anymore.

Well it happened again! Today I was again working on my inventory and found another "Angela Trotta "CA museum car! Only this one was different. On the left side of the shell the TCA museum was depicted as before. Same Angela Trotta  painting  . On the right side of the door was the printed inscription "Thanks

along wit a picture of the Flag pole and Plot. It too was autographed by Angela. As with the 52226 I can not find a reference for this car and it's Lionel number. On the box or car? On both sides April 1996 is printed on the door No "BLT. markings but N.T.T.M.C. is printed on the lower right on both sides. It also has the TCA logo on the right side of the door and the "THE NATIONAL TOY TRAIN MUSEUM" printed on the left side of the door on both sides. CAN ANY ONE HELP ME IDENTIFY THIS CAR??
