I originally posted this in general forum but it got buried quick, so trying here.

I was running two legacy engines in lash up, 28366 CN dash 9 and 28259 CN SD40-2, but they seemed a bit off in operation (the dash 9 reacts to commands quicker).  I completed a reset on each per the manuals in an attempt to clear any momentum or stall settings to see if they would sync up better.  After the resets I put both back in run mode ended up with different problems in each engine:

  • The SD40-2's cab light continuously blinks on and off in about 1 second intervals.  It starts blinking as soon as the track is powered up and continues whether the engine is stopped or running.
  • The dash 9's cab light now gets brighter when the engine starts moving instead of turning off.  The light does not initially turn on until the engine is addressed, unlike the SD40-2 blinking as soon as power is applied to track.

I tried running them on my other loop and no change.  Both issues happen whether in lash up or operated independently.

I am really confused about what the issue might be and the fact that both developed cab light issues at the same time.  I tried another lash up on the loop and all worked as normal.  I would appreciate any ideas and am hoping i'm just missing something obvious.
