I have this area between the upper and lower level that is bare. I show a pic of the area. I thought I would cut some strips to glue onto the 2X4's by the brackets. I have in mind cutting some Luan board to go over that. I am thinking two ways to go. building backs or backdrops. The height I have is 8 inches. Length will probably be around 15 ft or more. What choices are out there for the height limit without getting into too much cutting of either building backs or backdrops. I was also considering holding the Luan board with Velcro strips rather then gluing it on. Any help greatly appreciated............. Thanks Paul

I see where one pic is not enough. Here are more pics of the area I want top add to. The area is 8 inches high by approximately 24 ft long. It sits behind the freight yard and the lower mainlines. I was thinking about backs of buildings  or some kind of background mural glued to Luan board. Looking for the right stuff as close to 8 inches high because I don't want to cut off too much of either the buildings or the murals to fit. As always thanks for the help ahead of time.................Paul

Paul:

Do you have room to cover the shelf supports? If so then building fronts may be appropriate. If not you may have to go with what Moonman said.

With an 8 inch height you will need to stay with OGR 2-story buildings. I believe the 3-story buildings are 9 inches high. Another approach is DPM walls.

The shelf brackets I use tapper down on the 2X4's. I was going to make some furring strips to go along one side of the bracket, thick enough so I can attach Luan board to it. With the input I got from everyone on here. I am going to go with backs of buildings. But I have to find ones that are 8 inches high so I don't have to cut off too much of the buildings..................Paul
