New Lionel in and on the way!

WOW!!!  Aluminum cars have left the Orient???  Even better if they've already arrived in NC.   Glad to hear it.  Now the 4-pack will really tell the story if Lionel did right by the CZ with a domed observation. 

 

 

BTW Charlie, have you received the Canadian Pacific FM Trainmasters (or any of the road-names for that matter)?  All of the FM's have dropped off the online shipping schedule.

Thanks for the update Charlie. Glad to see the 18" CZ 2-pack is included with the current shipment. Those who ordered this set will be happy to see then on the way finally.

Any news on the Berks?

Yep, have heard through the grapevine (aka, another train dealer ) that many of the Lionel MLB box cars are shipping. Not as exciting as some of the other items but cool beans for us baseball fans.

Acording to lionel at Aprils York the CZ obs. Will not be a domed observation. But maybe they will surprise us. 

Sounds like Lionel is starting to make multiple shipments each month now that we're getting toward years-end.

That's what I heard as well... which is why I stuck it out with Atlas-O.  I sold all my 21" cars except the Atlas-O CZ.  Would have sold those too if Lionel had done a domed observation, 'cause I prefer the 18" models.  But given the problems Lionel has been having getting aluminum passenger cars out of the Orient, I figured they weren't likely to tackle new tooling for a domed 18" observation car.

 

Let's see if I made the right gamble.

It is beyond me why no domed observation. They did it for the 16 inch cars in the 1990s. I will still get the set.

Is that the 6-81908 reefers?  If so, they are a month early, and I'll be waiting for my email!

I was wondering the same thing...

Today's (10/24 just updated) shipping schedule update shows the VL Reefer 3 pack and the 6-81908 reefer 3-pack as shipping next month. 

 

Also, the 6-81840 UP Ca-4 yellow caboose as NOV '14.

 

VL BBs are just a short time away!

I noticed the following two observations:

 

• All the new Legacy FM Trainmasters are back on the list -- they had dropped off the list last week.  HOWEVER, they now show "Shipped, Sept 2013".  So I wonder if this is a new direction on Lionel's part  to feature items that have recently shipped with their actual shipping date, as opposed to just dropping shipped items off the list.  If this is, in fact, the case... then THANK YOU, Lionel for listening.  Took a while, but it would be a welcome change... so let's hope this will stick around for awhile. 

 

• Also, LOTS of items are now showing Jan/Feb 2015... so the schedule creep has begun for those items that won't make Santa's sleigh in late December.  Most folks won't mind, as it'll give them a breather around Christmastime.  December is gonna be a tough month on the wallet as it is for many folks!  So I doubt most folks will even blink at the items rolling over into a 2015 delivery... and they might even breathe a sigh of relief.

Any info about the Angela Trotta Thomas House Flag?

I have two Berks on order... I think they are due in around mid November?
