Have these shipped?  They dropped off the shipping list.  The shipping list has gotten short which is odd...but looking forward to the real PC set for the GG1.   Using the Amtrak cars with the F40PH.  Just wish they Amtrak cars would model an Eastern Heritage consist.  No dome and no observation.

Without Mike R driving these schedules now, I'm expecting we'll see the next batch of 21" cars WELL into 2017 -- perhaps even the second half of the year.  Not that Lionel's shipping schedule is known for its accuracy, the fact that these puppies aren't listed yet doesn't bode too well, IMHO.  Think about it... the Allegheny locomotives just delivered had a date-of-manufacture of 8/25/2016 on the shipping boxes.  So that's pretty close to the typical 3-month timeframe we've seen with other BTO items.

At the end of the day, this stuff gets here when it arrives.  But if Lionel can't even list the darn things on the shipping schedule yet, I'm thinking they're at least 6 months out.

In Marty's video of the October LUG meeting, Mike R. stated the 21" cars, along with the F40's, would be arriving in February 2017.

Let's say that were still true.  Then all things being equal, we might deduce a firm Feb 2017 delivery would imply these passenger cars have already been manufactured (i.e., in November).  And if so, then Lionel should be able to say that definitively-- which they don't seem to be doing...

Instead, they often give the appearance that they don't know what's being shipped until the containers arrive Stateside.

Well the the Lionel F40s are definitely here as some of you may know, but it doesn't look like the passenger cars came in this round of shipments, even though the pass cars have similar dates to the F40. My point here is that Lionel might be developing shipping trends, in which stuff gets shipped about every other month. For example all the vision gg1s and the allegheny/blue ridges arrived in December, or soon after. Then nothing arrived in January, delaying basically the initial arrival dates of the F40 and the pass cars. Then February came along, and what do you know we find the F40 load arriving at Lionel just over a week ago.

My question to Lionel and the dealers is, How do you track your shipments crossing the sea and going to and from Lionel to you and your stores/warehouses?

Over the past few months I have done extensive research to learn about the Lionel Shipping process. I am so thrilled to finally see that the LONG AWAITED Lionel F40ph is finally arriving to customer homes, not just the dealers. But yet again I am still very concerned that the passenger cars that were in that same catalog as the F40 are no where to heard or seen of.

In the end I'm only a customer, and all I can do is wait, and wait.

But darn I wish I had my Lionel 6-82889 Amtrak Station sounds diner already!!!!

Just the past few months?  Some of us here have been observing the various importer's shipping schedules for YEARS, and haven't found any rhyme-or-reason to it.

What I can't seem to wrap my head around is the fact that this ain't rocket science.  We're now in late-March.  Lionel should KNOW what was manufactured in China this month, and so we'll likely see those items in June.  But they seldom say anything definitive.

If those passenger cars are due to arrive by June (for example), Lionel should at least know if they've been shipped -- or even manufactured -- yet.  Instead... Nothing...  Or vague generalities at most.

Oh well... It is what it is... And our growing dependence on the whimsy of Chinese factory production schedules is getting worse by the day.

Agreed.  But even if they put dates to those items, would you really believe them?

Like I alluded to in my earlier posts, I've pretty much abandoned any hope for meaningful planning dates that go out beyond 3 months.  I'd just be happy to see Lionel tell us what was manufactured in China THIS month, so we can then expect to see it in our hands in about 3 months.

Beyond that, I honestly don't think anybody knows anymore.     That's just the "new normal".
