As to the silver trucks on the Amtrak version, they are easily painted if they are wrong however they should be black as they have been on every other release.  I'd love to order a pair of those too, but budget prevents me when I have two Amtrak E8s from 3rd Rail on preorder since most of my Amtrak fleet is Phase I anyway.

Thanks. The problem is its more then the trucks. Also the steps, undercarriage detail and plow should be black.   I have the previous P-3 release of this engine, Cab #406 with black trucks and detail.    I need a matching second engine to pull 7 Lionel aluminum Superliners.   If its another not correct fantasy scheme  I'll pass on it...

Without even getting into how you're using it, there are so many errors with the model they made of 406 that it doesnt make much sense to start nit picking now.

The catalog image is a horrible photoshop (they've also lopped off the lower half of the fuel tank), and I'm sure it'll have a black underframe because they have existing art drawings. Asking about it on MTH's facebook wall usually gets an answer for questions like that.

Thanks, I'll try that.   I know about #406. I'm planning to use it as the secret powered helper in a double headed config to pull a heavy 7 car load...
