A friend of mine is getting rid of his trains. I ended up buying both of his Coors light sets. One engine was damaged. My question is can you run both sets of reefers with one engine and all of the doors work? I noticed on the box they are a,b, and c. I have never owned MTH or dcs so I am new.

It was running on his layout for about a minute and took off flying off the layout. At the time he was running conventional with a cw80. I didnt know at the time that mth doesnt like cw's. it is only about 40 inches to the floor but the rear coupler broke and one of the ladders broke and one of the pieces of piping up on top of the engine broke. Other than that I think it is fine. I will have to go and check on my friends layout who runs dcs. I am just getting started in dcs so i havent even hooked mine up yet. Wont do that till after christmas.

The tail car is the Holy Grail with this set.  I lucked into one at the last Allentown train show, but they're scarce and expensive.  Problem is, everyone with one of the Silver Bullet trains wants that end car.

I can assure you, you won't find anyone to swap a reefer for a tail car, I bought one of the reefers NIB on eBay for $70, you won't find the tail car for anything near that.

I have four reefers and the tail car, and all of them operate from the single locomotive.  As Matt says, it takes a really good track signal to get the doors to open reliably, I have places I can stop and only a couple doors will function.

One oddity that I'm going to fix.  The tail car has white LED's in the reefer, all the other cars have blue LED's.  I'm going to swap out the white LED's so they all match.
