The cover of the DVD is the turntable on my good friend Marty Fitzhenry's layout. Great layout, great guy with endless knowledge and the best friend a guy could have, although his girl friend Dotty and cat Ralph are tops too! I will have to get one at York. My only concern is that Marty will charge me for his autograph Hopefully I can pay for it by buying him a beer.

Rich,

Sorry, but you are wrong. There are not 41 tracks around Marty's turntable, but actually 40. The last time I was at Marty's house in July, I "borrowed" Marty's Vision Line Hudson and the track it was sitting on to make it less obvious that an engine was missing. Hopefully, Marty's cat Ralph doesn't give me up as he was around at the time. I think I owe him some cat treats.

Hey, don't blame me for "borrowing Marty's engine. After all, I am a lawyer and a good one at that

Thanks to Marty hooking me up with Rich my layout got featured as well. Rich,  It was a pleasure to spend a few days shooting the layout with you. Looking forward to seeing this one.

Thanks to both of you for making this happen.

Rich,

When you said you were out this way filming layouts I was wondering if Dave was on the list.   We have some nice layouts in New England.  Glad to see some of them on DVD.

Yes, we are going to get set up to sell our videos on Vimeo.

A few questions for you if I may...

  1. Would you want to purchase and download an entire video in a single purchase, or would you prefer to purchase and download on an individual layout basis, one clip at a time?

  2. What do you think is a fair price point for a 20-25 minute sequence if we offered them on an individual basis?

  3. What do you think is a fair price point for the entire 1.5 hour HD video?

2. $2.99

3. $14.99

Personally, I'd prefer a single download for the entire video. I'm an entire album kinda guy.

Pricing...hopefully my opinions won't get me crucified.

As a consumer, I would expect the full length to be priced the same as the physical HD version so $19.95.

Individually, I would think 5.95 would be acceptable. It's basically the price for the entire video divided by 4 plus $1.00 for the additional steps to take what was once one video and publish 4 videos.

In either circumstance, purchasing electronically would be cheaper than a physical copy (no shipping).

"Comments are disabled", my suggestion.  Turn on comments. I like to know what I am buying, I always read the comments.

Gary, that video was a promo to give people a tiny glimpse into the overall Tower City video. You cannot make a meaningful comment on a video that you have only seen 1% of.

Hi Rich: Got it. Over the years I have purchased several OGR Videos.  On the OGR Forum, I know the organization and I know I will receive a quality video.  On Vimeo you are selling to people who do not know about the OGR Organization.  These may be international sales. Example: On e-bay or Amazon / you have to have positive comments or the buyers will walk away.  The same thing on Vimeo.  My two cents, maybe three cents. lol

Gary

I have purchased every OGR in Blu-ray.  I enjoy these videos and often as I'm on my exercise bike, or treadmill, watch the magnificent layouts and really enjoy "meeting" the person or people behind the layout.  Rich does a fantastic job bringing out the highlights of the builder(s) and these layouts: Dave Minarik, Don Klose, Gary Clare, Linda Quick,  Bill Bramlage, Bob Bartizek, Charles Griffin (and son--God rest both of them--very sad),  “Leapin” Larry Levin, Jim McIntosh, Lou Ignarro, Bill Thompson, The Duke Energy Layout in Cincinnati, The Train Shack in Burbank, California, Jack Wheelihan, Pat & Jean Marinari, Ron Zweig, Bob Cebula, Jim Policastro, Terry Johnson, Jim Quick Linda as well), "and the rest" as they used to say in the Theme Song of Gilligan's Island.

Now the newest: Marty Fitzhenry, Dave Connolly and Steve Nelson (Mr. Muffin’s) although I actually have met Steve (and his wonderful wife) on several occasions!  And of course, the Glacier Line Crew: Rod Weinschenk, Gregg Burks, Chris Toncheff and my awesome wife Connie!  Can't wait to see us.  This was a real experience for me.

I'm more great-full and thankful and appreciate Rich for filming the Glacier Line.  I forever will have this copy to enjoy when this fun layout is history.  I love model railroading, but there is one sad fact of reality: one day all of these layouts will be long gone.  However, the bright spot is that thousands of people well into the future will be able to enjoy all of these great model railroads--me included as I sit in my rocking chair.

I wish that greater video technology would have existed in John Allen's, Frank Ellison's and Al Kalmbach's times.  No such luck.

It is Connie's, the Crew, and my privilege and honor to be included with these other great model railroaders!  And to be on this Forum with so many other great and knowledgeable people who have a great passion for this hobby!  God Bless each and every one of you.

My copy(s) arrived today!!!  Connie and I watched the entire video (twice)!

I'll give it to you Rich, other than me twisting in my chair from side to side nervously, eyes darting around looking here, there and everywhere (like I was trying to run for the hills) it was good.  We really enjoyed how you put the entire video together.

We are thrilled you shot Steve and Liz Nelson's (Mr. Muffins) layout before it was gone and will be relocated to Atlanta, IN.  Great story!

Loved the scenery detail on Doug's layout!

MARTY:  Who painted the backdrops?  Connie loves the backdrops!

Rich you do great work!  I hope that down the road these videos continue.  The magazine is wonderful, but there's no substitution for sound and motion.  You do a great job of bringing out the personalities of the participants.

I love this video series.

THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING!

Individual download in HD- $3.99

I would order the entire video download in HD-$14.99 although $9.99 would be a great deal, maybe on the older versions.

John, the backdrops were painted by a famous local artist and friend named Michael St George.  Michael  passed away in 2004.  He has painted some very famous people.  Michael was also a Hollywood actor.  He was good friends with Vic Morrow and was in some of his programs.  Michael was on the set and witnessed the tragic death of Vic Morrow.  His agent has reminded me that I have the largest piece of Michael StGeorge art. Everything was done in acrylic.  Michael is gone and hopefully his art work will live on.  I have always valued it and will never cover any of it.  I badly need more shelf space but not over his work.

Please tell Connie thank you.
