Newly finished elevated tinplate railway! | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

Well, after several weeks of getting stuff and with lots of help with Steve Eastman I finally finished it. I used Marx light towers to support the railway and built everything from a couple of lots boxes of Erector Set parts that I got. I have a couple of little details left to do but otherwise I am really happy with the way it came out.

Thanks everyone. I did have to sort out the stability of the railway and added braces where needed. Running the big 256 really shows track sag and deflection to help me sort it out. Once done I then decided to bolt the track to the Erector set base and all really works well. I can shake the elevated rail and the whole layout shakes so I am good. I really wanted to make something all tinplate so even though I really doubted if I could I am very happy with the result. I really do not know if anyone else has ever done this before.
