Both my traditional MTH 408E's, my Lionel Classics 2-400E and MTH P-2 400E Blue Comet, and my P-2 Brute have NO traction tires, and that is the way they will stay as long as they are mine!

Traction tires are an accident waiting to happen and are generally unnecessary.

My Brute pulls its FOUR Showroom consist with NO traction issues!

I agree!  I removed the traction tire wheel sets from my personal locomotives, 400E, 4-4-0 ESE and the coal train.  All they did was make a mess as they wear.  The locomotives have plenty of traction to pull what I want with regular wheel sets.

The locomotives with bild-a-loco type drivers that "drop into place" is easy to change when the center rail pickup plate is removed.  Love that option!
