During the Summer I usually ride my bike at least 3 times a week through a park near my home that the BNSF cuts through.  On one side of the tracks there is a park district swimming pool and other side there is Frisbee golf course.  A bike path cuts right through park across the railroad tracks.  Tonight I was riding up steep hill on the bike path through the park and unexpectedly came up to this train sitting on the tracks.  I have only seen 2 trains come through here in the past several years...as far as I know it is not a busy route.  At first I thought this stinks because in order for me to get home, I need to cross the tracks.  Well some High School students decided to crawl through the train…stupid move on their part!  I waited there for a few minutes hoping the train would move and decided to take some photos.

After about 10 minutes, I realized this train is not going anywhere soon.  So I decided to go back down the hill out of the park and take the bike path down to the next crossing which is about half mile away.  Before I got to the next crossing, there were 6 engines, 3 BNSF, 1 IR, 2 Hudson Bay Railway, sitting on the tracks and I was able to take a few more pictures….

I took this picture on the other side of the crossing across from the bike path.

This picture is opposite side of the house from the crossing.  I could not get all six engines in the picture because of the trees being in the way. I am sort of envious of this person's house...being able to lay down in the hammock on their back patio and watch a occasional train go by...at least that is what I would do!!
