It has arrived! And, considering these are masterfully hand built by forum member Brother Love, the turnaround time was insane. About 6 weeks between ordering and final delivery! Here it is matched up with the train it'll be following - a block of MTH Premier Pacemaker AAR boxcars. It's a nearly perfect match in all areas except the grays. Obviously Pollyscale and MTH had different takes on the shade. Regardless, a million thanks to Malcolm, this caboose is worth every penny and more.

No, it's not actually on a train, it's on a layout in my house 
Also, I'm imitating the builder beauty shots with no marker lamps. After all, this model has just been delivered by the builder and is posing for beauty shots

Thanks guys! Ralph (RJL), I am waiting for you to see this thread. Would you be able to post a picture of your caboose next to Atlas O's version of the boxcar? From what I can see they used a similar darker shade of grey that looks like a better match to Malcolm's caboose. I'll have to hunt some down and use them as "transition" cars to smooth out the color difference.

Your NYC Pacemaker caboose and box cars are beautiful.
For now, I have to wait until my son takes the photo(s).
The cabooses that Malcolm created for you and me have the same red and gray color shades that Atlas made for their NYC Pacemaker box cars.
AND, Maloclm fashioned the colors without knowing the color schemes.
The prototype 1946 NYC colors for their 'FIVE' cabooses and their many DSI box cars were close to Malcolm's, which were darker than the 1954 PS made PS-1 box cars, for the NYC Pacemaker fleet, as Lionel's PS-1 version box cars are lighter, modeling PS.
I read in an old narrative that in 1954, when PS made up the PS-1 Pacemaker box cars, their red and gray colors were lighter, in shade, compared to the original 1946 NYC DSI Pacemaker equipment, so therefore, Lionel, sort of, got it right.
By the way, as on Malcolm's "Caboose...Facebook," my cab has the early 1950's F-1 Cement Black smoke stack, cupola roof, caboose body-roof, platforms, steps and 'A' and 'B' sill ends.

Fantastic building workmanship as always. However, notice that the "colored band" at the top of the caboose does NOT match the same "colored band" on the boxcars. Looking carefully at the prototype photos, the NYC had that "color band" matching the same height on the "Pacemaker" boxcars.
Hot, the difference in height might be due to the trucks. Malcolm offered both 2 and 3 rail trucks. I suspect the 2 rail version sits lower. The line should bisect the window frame which it does on the model.

Please, look carefully at the B&W photo. and you'll notice that the RED area, on the cab., is slightly higher, than on the box car. This same height difference is evident on a color photo. in the Ole' West Yards of N.Y.C.S., in Manhattan, N.Y.C., N.Y.S..
Scroll down to the color photo. of a 'Break man' giving a Lantern Signal to the Engineer, in the yard and standing on the ground, just behind the Pacemaker cab., which is coupled up to a Pacemaker box car.

I have one of these NYC cabooses from Malcolm as well. Absolutely gorgeous craftsmanship. I recall that Malcolm may be retiring from model making, unfortunately for those who would like to have one of his exquisite models. Good health and happiness to Malcolm in retirement if that's the case. He's a gifted artist.
