Clem,

I don't know, exactly, what you saw, but the only railroad cars with the NYC 'L.C.L.' 'Pacemaker' 'Freight Service' color paint scheme, of 'Vermilion' top sections and 'Dark Grey' bottom sections, were a great number of box cars and only five cabooses, all made up at NYC's. D.S.I. shops in East Rochester, N.Y.S., around 1945/6.

Here's three NYC caboose models being custom built:

I was going through older posts last night and saw this one, of yours, or else I would have answered it back in Sep. of last year.

If, you have been following the "TWO Rail" Forum, you would see 'Past' and 'Current' commo. traffic, regarding NYC's. 'L.C.L.' 'Pacemaker' 'Freight Service' info. and photos.

of their box cars and FIVE cabooses, made up for such service, showing the 'Vermilion' & 'Dark Grey' color paint scheme and markings.

This service was initiated back in 1945, to counter the trucking industries delivery service.

Hi, Clem.

I'll have to go back and watch my copy of the program to refresh my memory but I believe you saw demonstrator units. NYC hosted several different types of demonstrators over the years.

Hi John,

I just now checked and saw your post of the two photos. regarding NYC's. 'L.C.L.' 'Pacemaker Freight Service,' a B&W-box car and delivery tractor truck, with a trailer box and a color photo. of a beautiful Pacemaker trailer box on a flat car.

Where did you get that beautiful trailer box from, does it have a tractor truck to it and is it, or are they, 1:48 scale size?

This trailer box has the correct configurations, style, designs, detailing and colors, as the prototype.

Thank you,

Ralph
