The prototype CCRX 40011 is a 10-axle depressed center flatcar and has an overall length of 87-1/2 feet over coupler faces. It uses 2-axle and 3-axle style trucks. The load platform length is 29 feet.
This depressed center flat car is now owned by Contractors Cargo Company, Houston, Texas. It was originally built for General Electric, by Maxson. The GE railcar designation was GECX 40011. The prototype has a capacity of 512,000 lbs.
The O scale model shown is painted to represent a rebuilt or reconditioned flatcar very similar to the CCRX prototype. The transformer load shown is from RailKing. The model trucks are from Lionel and MTH.
