I'm looking for various O scale vehicles for close up scenes.  I'd prefer true 1:48 models but given the scarcity of those I realize I'll have to use some in 1:43 scale.  Some of what I'm looking for are the following:  In 1:48 scale Renwall made a nice 1940 Ford sedan model kit and Revell made a nice 1932 Ford coupe.  Berkshire Valley made a few 1934 Ford pickup truck kits.  If you have any other 1:48 vehicles or kits let me know.  In 1:43 scale there are some very nice models made by companies such as Brooklin.  I'm still reading and learning about what is available in 1:43.  If you have nicely detailed 1:43 cars please let me know.

Brooklin cars are, for the most part, very expensive, when compared to some of the alternatives.  Check out Yat-Ming.  Look at Model Train Stuff's website.  They usually have a pretty good selection of 1:43 diecast stuff available at reasonable prices with equally reasonable shipping costs.  I have a bunch of duplicate 1:43 diecast that I would be willing to part with for good prices.  Bob S.

Well, Happy Pappy has been or is looking for the same exact era of model autos I have

been....1940 and prior.  With everything else but Brooklin..not cheap!!..you either get

large luxury classics in that era, or a constant repeat of Fords.  Brooklin, of course,

has gone on binges, like the Buick binge, which they have not completed, just one 1940 body style I am aware of....Buicks were seen on the streets, but cars like

Chevrolet, most common from that era in the small towns I was familiar with, are

almost non existant. Now, if you are looking for the 1950-70 era, it appears to me

(and I barely glance at these), that there are more and cheaper choices out there.

The era you model has a lot to do with it, so you might specify.
