When York goes public next year will this regular event be open to forum members that are not TCA members?

This particular event (OGR Forum Meeting) is already open to anyone. Permit me to explain.

The York fairgrounds is open to all--members, non-members, general public, etc.--throughout the York Meet. The only restrictions relate to the buildings that are reserved and designated for the meet (the various-color halls--orange, purple, blue, red, silver, etc.). Only TCA members can gain access to any of those halls. The OGR Forum gathering is NOT held in one of those trading halls, so anyone who cares to attend can certainly do so if they want to make the trip to York only to partake of this gathering.

I suppose you also could come for the Forum meeting, get all excited/curious about what's going on in the various trading halls (which you cannot enter), walk down to the Silver Hall and sign-up for a TCA membership and Meet registration, and then enjoy the next several hours seeing what the York Meet is all about.

No..because non TCA members can only get in on Saturday.

Really??? Is this a new twist???  I thought when we discussed this recently, the public was gonna be allowed on Friday and Saturday.  Has that changed to just Saturday???

David, in the October issue of the TCA Quarterly, in the President's Column (page 3), it is mentioned the dealer halls will be open to the public on Saturday only.  Hall hours will be extended.

Wish I could go, I have school  I will be up on Saturday, is anything interesting happening then?

The only things going on on Saturday are the free coffee & donut starting at 7:30 am in the Orange Hall lobby, and the Eastern Division membership meeting in the Orange Hall conference room at 8 am.  The coffee and donut are a good reason to get there before the meet opens at 9.

Not to hijack the thread, but during the PA announcements just before the meet opened at 12 today, they mentioned that in April the dealer halls will be open to the public on both Friday and Saturday, with those halls staying open until 4 PM on Saturday.  I think there may have been a slight communication gap between TCA president and the Eastern Division.
