OGR forum seminar?

Sounds like a great idea. I don't have firsthand knowledge of the original meetings but definitely think this sort of thing would still be useful. Two areas that immediately come to mind are scenery techniques for improved realism (this never gets old - it seems like there is always some better way out there) and use of technology around the layout. The latter topic is not covered nearly to the extent it could be judging by the many interesting posts I read here but rarely see covered in mainstream articles.

Lee French did the legwork the last time in organizing the event.

 

The Hikels, Steve B. from Ross switches, Jim E. of Scenic Express, Bill D. (Fusion Fiber), and I did presentations, as I recall.

 

A nice way to spend the Thursday AM before the halls opened.

We will definitely attend. Really like scenery and structure ideas, especially weathering techniques, lighting, etc. We have plenty of experts who can run with the his.

Thanks to everyone for their responses. It seems scenery is a popular topic. I have some ideas already. 

 

I'm thinking this could start about 9:30 am and run till about 11:30. Maybe cover three or four related topics.

Mike Taylor also arranged this event one year.  He's no longer in the hobby so have at it - they were fun and a great way to spend a few hours before the show opened.
