On3 Help with value

First, you can only compare your MMI brass K-27 Mikado to the prices of other MMI brass K-27 Mikados.  Those others are in different leagues.

These MMI engines seem to be listed for sale on eBay fairly frequently.  I'd suggest that you watch them for a while to see what they actually sell for - not what they are listed for....  I sold one a year or 3 back for $475 for my Father in Law and he was delighted by the price; I see higher prices quoted all the time, but I don't see a lot of sales.

You might also pick up a copy of a recent issue of Narrow Gauge & Short Line Gazette to see what dealers and such are listing them for to get some sort of retail pricing.

What it's worth is also hinged to what's being offered for trade and what that might be worth to you!

I've posted it over on the Narrow Gauge Forum as well in hopes of catching someone involved with these. Ours is very well detailed and appointed  a beautiful piece indeed. None of them are 'inexpensive'! Ha 

Check ebay COMPLETED auctions for a real world value.

These MMI locos as stated above are mainly cast not brass as the others are.They sell for around $600 brand new here is a link to one of the main sellers.

They sell for between $400 - $500 on ebay etc sometimes a bit cheaper depending on condition.

You cant compare them to full brass models even though they are superb looking engines

Also if this is an early release with sound They had lots of negative comments when released and never added sound again.Most people now rip out the sound electronics and replace with tsunami .
