The Transylvania outdoor train display was a big hit. Kids of all ages loved it, even the parents. It was a simple 4' X 4' platform on horses, with a carved pumpkin tunnel, and some small items from the Dollar Tree that we picked up yesterday.

At first, rain showers were in the forecast, so Theresa and I waited until the last minute to pick up the decorations. I had the platform made and wired a few weeks ago, so it only took about a half hour or so to get everything set up. Theresa is already talking about expanding for next year.

For the basket ball fans,Ashley native Dave Popson, formerly of the Clippers, Heat and Bucks stopped by with his wife, son and daughter making the trick or treat rounds. Dave and the kids came in to see our collection in the train room.

It certainly was a perfect night, especially after weeklong forecasts of rain showers.

I've known Dave and his family for many years. He is a member of the church I belong to. His daughter is in my CCD class, and his son is very much into trains. I guess we'll have to get together more often.
