In my zeal to have my UP diesel A unit run more smoothly, I used the grease in my cleaning kit on the wheels as the Greenberg Manual instructs. However, I may have used too much grease, and now the diesel drags no matter how much track cleaner I use on my tracks (O gauge). Is there a way to de-gunk the UP and have it run more smoothly, short of cleaning the track ad nauseum?

What do you mean by drags? i use some mineral spirits, just a bit in a ventilated area to remove grease.
Do not get it on painted surfaces.
When I say it drags, I mean that at full throttle, it doesn't run as fast as before I greased the wheels. I've run another diesel on the track and it runs fine, just like it is supposed to. You mention using mineral spirits. Do I put a drop or two on a clean rag and put it on the wheels? Thank you for your help.

What prompted you to grease the wheels? Grease should only be used on gears and oil on wheel axels.
