Need a bit of advice on my P3 Dorfan Steamer. It is dropping in and out of command or something like that. When the chuffing stops it begins to runaway. Sometimes it powers up normally on the start up command, other times it starts up like in conventional as soon as power is applied, but goes no where until the throttle wheel is turned, and it runs away. Hopefully the video shows enough for someone to figure it out.

thanks

Can't believe it's been over a year since I set this engine in the back of the work bench and piled crap all over it. Been clearing out some older projects the past few days and took this one out today. Ends up the set screw was missing from the tach strip wheel. There was enough friction to get the wheel turning at start up, but once going the wheel was slipping on the shaft. The system wanted the wheel going faster to meet my set speed, so it kept speeding up the loco, but the tach wheel was not speeding up much to match. Wonder if the set screw was missing from the factory? Had a bit of run time on it before it started acting up. Put in a screw and all seems well.
