Thanks for taking the time to post these.  For a guy not able to go, I almost feel as if I was a part of York.

Somewhere in all those locomotives is my Grey Vision Line Challenger!  I just know it!

Thank you for the great pictures. I want to go so bad one day and this type of info is a real motivator. Lord willing next year will be my first real effort. I can definitely see I need to start saving the train budget big time. When I go my list will be long.

These are the best I've seen in terms of giving a idea of the size and scope of the York Meet. Remember folks, these are only 2 of 7 buildings. Great job!

I think these really capture the size and scope of the Meet -- and this is only part of it!

glad i didn't go as there was nothing to buy there. now all i need to do is keep repeating this to myself and convince myself that i really didn't miss a thing.

I assume it was, i do not recall the vendor, but he was close to Nassau Hobbies booth in the orange hall, perhaps if you can get the Orange Hall map. The guy looking at the computer name is Paul Piker and had a booth at GG-2. So maybe it is his?

Never been to York...All I know I have read here on the forum.... So where are the crowds?  Was this an off day?

Great pictures, Chris.  Geez.....I'm glad I don't go....I'd be spending some serious cash with all those trains and dealers there.  So tell me....Ro, Gryzboski, Nicholas Smith, etc...certainly bring a boatload of product to the show.  Do they offer significant discounts below what you might typically see on their websites?

I think on some things they do, but I do not watch websites enough to know what kind of deals there are. And you can usually haggle with them a bit

It was later in the afternoon Friday, started thinning out. I have never felt crowded in the Dealer halls its the members halls that get cramped

These are the best photos I've seen of York.  The no photography rule was short sighted.  Now a guy living on the other side of the country has a better idea of what York is all about (both the trains and the meet overall) and is more likely to fly out there for an upcoming meet.

One difference between the dealer halls and the member halls is that in the latter, the table holders are seated in the aisles, whereas everywhere else there is room between each row of tables for the sellers to remain behind their tables. 

Dunno what I was smirking at, other than the signs posted in a nearby dealer's booth, encouraging shoppers to "slim down their fat wallets" in order to help "pay for the cat psychologist" before the owner's "medication wore off"

The members halls are mostly cash, in the dealers halls many have credit card machines . I spent $900 but was a light buying trip, a couple of trips have been around $2500

Thanks for posting Chris. Now I can show my family & friends why I go to York, PA every October.

Mainly due to narrow aisles, and the fact that dealers have to sit in those aisles, the member halls (not shown, Red, White, Silver, Blue) are MUCH more crowded than the ones shown (Orange, Purple).

IMHO, the show is much more pleasant when the crowds are light. I was there Thursday and Friday until about 11:00. During the times I was in the Orange hall, it was never overly crowded. The member halls were congested at times.

That explains why the parking lot seemed fuller than usual when I arrived around Noon on Thursday.  Still plenty of spaces on the paved parking lots -- just would have parked a bit further away than usual were it not for a space two of my forum buddies saved for me behind the Brown Hall.  Thanks, Marshall and David!!!  

Now that I've been making York a day-trip for the past few years, I spend most of my time in the Orange Hall.  And it wasn't crowded at all on Thursday -- except a noticeable surge around 5PM when the member halls closed.

Thanks for posting Chris. Am I overstating the obvious when I say plenty of white hair and beards.

Our generation will be the last to enjoy this hobby as there are so many other diversions these days.

I only hope I'm wrong.

In my experience as a seller in one of the member’s halls, the Orange hall does get  crowded when the member's halls close which now happens at 5:00 PM.
