Usually, when I power up and begin running the Zephyr with legacy, it works fine for 15 minutes. After that (running the same loop) it loses the signal, stops running, and then only works in conventional. When I turn off power, wait a few minutes, and turn power back on, it still only runs in conventional. If I turn off power and wait a few hours, it may then run under Legacy for another 15 minutes before it loses the command signal.
How do I fix this?

Not an expert here but I do have the loco. Is it stopping in the same place on the track?
Top suspect would be the antenna disconnected internally. If that's not the problem, and it stops in random places and other locomotives experience no issues in the same locations, it's likely the TMCC receiver failing.

checked the antenna before, and that is ok
I will check the board to make sure it is seated ok

Remove it and reseat it to make sure.
I have had boards feel firmly seated yet do not work and then When removed and pushed in again they work. Never understood this. Maybe someone else smarter than I can explain. (dirt, moisture?)
The reason boards and the PLCC chips do that is oxidation on the contact surfaces. When you remove and reseat them, it rubs that off and gives you another few years.
