Polar Express

Vic, 6-36875 is the first version made by Lionel and will operate only with an original,  conventional PE transformer set while 6-83437 is the just released version that for LionChief sets. They are not interchangeable between the two types of PE sets.

As for a complete list of PE cars, it depends on whether you're referring to the PE passenger set fashioned after the film, the 0-8-0 PE freight set, or the PE streamlined diesel set. Each set is different with different but since all three sets are traditional 0-27 semi-scale ready to run starter sets their respective set cars and add-on cars are  interchangeable with identical red and blue PE paint colors and gold PE lettering.

Let me help clear this up;
6-36875 is for conventional operation only, uses the negative DC offset generated by the bell button to trigger the announcements

6-83437 is designed for Lionchief operation. Since there is no negative DC offset in Lionechief, only a remote control, we wanted to make a version that worked with all Lionchief Polar sets; 30218 (Polar Express), 30220 (Polar 10th anniv) and the 2017 Polar Express set (which will use Bluetooth communication instead of RF). The new announcement coach will work with either the older RF technology AND the new BT technology, but will not work with a negative DC offset, that is the function the 36875 fulfills. 

Hope this clears up the confusion, there is only so much page space in a catalog to explain this, our apologies if it was too vague.

I've asked many times and gotten no response. Is there anyone who knows what the new car is going to say, and how you activate it with your existing remote?  I would think the existing announcement button would activate the existing announcements on the engine.

The add-on cars I am trying to find a listing for are for the original PE set with the baby berk fashioned after the film.
