What happens if you pre-order an item and you die before it gets made?
Can it be said that you turned bottoms-up 
to the manufacturer being so slow?

It is called "the cost of doing business".
I'm fairly sure that it's my determination to receive the items that I have had on pre-order for the past 2 years that have kept me alive this long. So I've made some more pre-orders this year in the hope that it keeps working. 
What happens when you pre-order with a shop requiring a deposit and they go out of business before the order comes in? 
A gamble either way.
If I die with outstanding pre-orders then I wish to be cremated and have my ashes sprinkled in the Pacific Ocean from the bow of the container ship bringing my trains from China...but don't throw in the trains..sell them on Ebay.
Well, all I know for sure is that should that happen, I won't really care.
